Personality:Ritsuka has been through a lot. In fact he can't remember himself from two years ago, the person he was all his childhood was rather popular and very well liked. The change in personality came unexpecidly. Ritsuka is rather distant now, often not conversing with his new classmates or really interacting with them. He enjoys reading but is really rather stubborn. Underlying Ritsuka wants to be loved. Loveless is the boy's true name. Despite how mature he is there is an air of innocence about him.

He wants to please people who he cares about all the time, probably stemming from his mother's abusive behavior. He simply wants to give his mother 'her Ritsuka' back. He doesn't like people who are stupid or make themselves appear so. He has a hard time dealing with the subject of love and actually hates to even hear someone say it to him. He has serious trust issues and questions people constantly. In fact he was completely uncomfortable and thrown off by Soubi's immediate and upfront intimacy.

Distinguishing Scars/Marks: Ritsuka seems to always have some sort of abrasion whether it be his face, hands, anywhere. He often bandages himself up. His name has yet to be found on his body.

If death's in love with us

History:
He grew up looking up to his older brother Seimei who was extremely close to him. The two had what appeared to be a strange relationship that was loving all the same. Seimei helped his younger brother through their mother's abuse. When Ritsuka was only ten years old his personality changed rapidly after his mopther claimed he was not himself... literally.

Seimei helped his brother, protecting him from his mother but when he was twelve his brother was murdered and found burned horribly in Ritsuka's elementary school, sitting in the boy's chair no less.

His mother continually challenged Ritsuka, testing him to see if he was himself causing a lot of stress for the boy. He sticks up for her even through the beatings and after moving to a new school eventually made a friend in Yuiko Hawatari. It is a rather weird friendship and only exists because Yuiko, who is rather dim, kept persisting.

On the first day of the new school he met a man by the name of Soubi, a college student without his ears who claimed to be friends with Seimei. The boy was taken immediately, any connection with his brother was good enough for him. Soubi soon explained his connection with him and that on his late brother's orders he was to be Ritska's fighter unit and Ritsuka his sacrifice.

In the midst of all of this, Ritsuka has grown to almost trust Soubi though constantly questions him while he tells him that he loves him.
